Half Timbered Van
A scrap of of something for Intersection magazine : My parents had a Morris Traveller in the early 1970s. I have vague dreamlike memories of sitting in the back driving through the English countryside with a large clay Cider jug rolling around as the car twisted down leafy lanes. The Morris Traveller is such a strange thing - part car, part van, part vehicle part half timbered building. Its the only car I've known that has been taken off the road because of dry rot. Its still a remarkable car-marrying a particular kind of English nostalgia with modern machine. This desire for both the village green and the motorway comes together in the Morris Traveller.
