I, Sam Jacob, being of sound mind and body do hereby ... Hold On: More accurately - being of slightly skewed mind and body do here by publish some pictures of a nifty little shop at East Croydon station. Along side key cutting, shoe repairs and pet tags, they also offer Memorials. Here is their sample board, with (I guess) some fictional dead people: 'Bill Hogben'. 'Mary Jepson'. One can only guess at the imaginary lives these samples commemorate, wonder at the reason 'Councillor Hillary Beckett planted a tree, or what kind of building 'Councillor John Foster' laid the foundation stone of. Perhaps these are small artefacts of an imaginary, yet banally realistic version of Croydon
