Acts of Un-Building: Timelapse Demolitions
Demolition is as much part of architectures creative act as construction. Decisions about what, how and when something is taken down are as significant cultural acts as those made about what, how and when something is built. I'd like to fantasise about an equal weight given to demolition as to building - magazines with titles like 'Un-Building Design' or 'Architecture Today (Gone Tomorrow)'. What we might call reverse-architecture is revealed as an act which demands its own literature, institutions, academies, and stars in these timelapse videos of varied ways of de-building.
